City of God

City of God From Brazil is a movie which many think describe Brazil or Rio De Janeiro, I came to know about if from people when they talk about how unsafe Brazil or Rio was. Being there myself before watching it I definitely wanted to see it to understand the life in Favelas as people mentioned.

I think the movie is pretty well done and being based on a real story, the presentation which makes it so involved is amazing. In many ways is just another Gang war movie, the same kind of story that one gang kills others etc. The interesting part is the subtle mention of how life in Rio is(was?) so different between the Slums and the non slums. The mentality of the people behind violence and the circumstances which forces them. and the police's involvement in the whole process.
