Letters from Iwo Jima is the narration by one of the soldiers of the war at the Island of Iwo Jim between the Japanese and the Americans.
The movie is more about emotions of various people involved than the war and strategy. It shows a good mix of the Japanese culture of pride and discipline and strong patriotism along side the human emotions of love and companionship (among soldiers).
